Wednesday, June 09, 2010
Fairfax, Va. -- The National Rifle Association Political Victory
Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing U.S. Congressman Dan Boren (D-OK) for
re-election in Oklahoma's Democratic primary election on July
27th.
"Congressman Dan Boren has always been, and continues to be, a
rock-solid supporter of the Second Amendment. Gun owners and
hunters in Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District can count on him
to continue to stand up for their rights," said Chris W. Cox,
chairman of NRA-PVF.
As a member of Congress, Dan Boren has proven his steadfast
commitment to the Second Amendment, both in Oklahoma and around the
country. Congressman Boren has voted to allow law-abiding permit
holders to carry in national parks and refuges; protect hunting,
fishing, trapping and recreational shooting on public land managed
by the Bureau of Land Management; prevent the confiscation of
firearms from law-abiding citizens during states of emergency; and
restore Second Amendment rights within the home for self-protection
purposes.
Congressman Dan Boren's steadfast support for individual gun
ownership rights earned him an "A+" rating and endorsement by
NRA-PVF.
"The choice is clear for NRA members and gun owners in
Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District," concluded Cox. "Dan Boren
is the best person to serve them. I ask every NRA member, hunter
and gun owner to vote for Dan Boren on July 27th."
Chris W. Cox is executive director of NRA's Institute for
Legislative Action. He also serves as chairman of NRA-PVF. The
National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is responsible
for political candidate rankings. These are based on candidate
voting records, public statements and responses to NRA-PVF
questionnaires.
