NRA-PVF Endorses David Schweikert for U.S. House of Representatives in Arizona’s 5th Congressional District
Wednesday, September 29, 2010
Fairfax, Va.-- The National Rifle Association Political Victory
Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing David Schweikert for election to the
U.S. House of Representatives in Arizona's 5th
Congressional District this November.
"We can count on David Schweikert to defend the Second Amendment
freedoms of Arizona's law-abiding gun owners, hunters and
sportsmen," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF.
"David Schweikert is the clear choice for gun owners in this
race."
As a state legislator, David Schweikert was the lead sponsor and
voted for Arizona's constitutional carry legislation that allows
law-abiding people to carry a concealed firearm without a
permit. He voted to protect the right to hunt and fish on
public lands and for pro-conservation legislation to protect and
improve hunting and fishing opportunities. Schweikert opposes
federal firearm owner licensing and no-net-loss of public
hunting lands and believes sportsmen should have access to
federally owned or administered lands for hunting, fishing,
trapping and recreational shooting.
David Schweikert's commitment to preserving the Second Amendment
has earned him an "A" rating and endorsement from the
NRA-PVF.
"David Schweikert will be a strong voice in fighting ongoing
efforts by anti-gun politicians to dismantle the Second Amendment,"
Cox concluded. "We ask all gun owners and hunters in Arizona's
5th District to vote David Schweikert for Congress on
November 2."
Chris W. Cox is NRA's chief lobbyist. He also serves as chairman
of NRA-PVF. The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund
is responsible for political candidate rankings. These are based on
candidate voting records, public statements and responses to
NRA-PVF questionnaires.
