Fairfax, Va.-- The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing State Senator John Waterman (R-39) for re-election to the Indiana State Senate this November.

Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF stated, "The NRA-PVF is endorsing Senator Waterman because of his unequivocal support for the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding Indiana gun owners.  Our members in the 39th District know they can trust John to protect their gun rights."

Waterman has worked to support many of Indiana's pro-gun and pro-hunting bills during his tenure in the Senate, including:  establishing a hunter apprentice license and Indiana's Lifetime Concealed Firearm Permit - the first of its kind in the United States; participating in two pro-gun "friend of the court" briefs in the McDonald v. Chicago case, supporting the position that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that protects all Americans; and advancing Indiana's new Gun Permit Privacy Act and the Emergency Powers and Parking Lot laws, which protect citizens against firearm confiscations during states of emergency and wrongful termination by their employers for locking a firearm in their personal vehicles while at work.

"John Waterman's support for important firearm legislation, especially his voting record in Senate committees and on the Senate floor has again earned him an 'A+' rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF," Cox continued. "We ask all Indiana gun owners, hunters and NRA members in the 39th Senate District to vote John Waterman for re-election on November 2."

Chris W. Cox is NRA's chief lobbyist. He also serves as chairman of NRA-PVF. The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is responsible for political candidate rankings. These are based on candidate voting records, public statements and responses to NRA-PVF questionnaires.
