NRA-PVF Endorses State Representative Paul Robertson for Re-Election in Indiana’s 70th House District
Wednesday, September 29, 2010
Fairfax, Va.-- The National Rifle Association
Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Rep. Paul Robertson
(D-70) for re-election to the Indiana House of Representatives this
November.
"Paul Robertson has earned the NRA-PVF
endorsement for his unwavering pro-gun record throughout his
political career," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF. "His
commitment to preserving our Second Amendment rights and hunting
heritage makes Paul Robertson the clear choice for Hoosier gun
owners."
During his tenure in the Indiana House of
Representatives, Paul Robertson has consistently supported gun
rights for law-abiding citizens and helped pass important
legislation in his capacity as Democrat Whip in his House Caucus.
He voted to protect lawful firearm owners from being held liable if
their firearms are stolen and later used in a crime; supported
Indiana's Lifetime Concealed Firearm Permit - the first of its kind
in the United States; and signed a pro-gun "friend of the court"
brief in McDonald v. Chicago, supporting the position that
the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that protects
all Americans.
In addition, Robertson supported Indiana's new
Emergency Powers and Parking Lot laws, protecting Hoosiers against
firearm confiscations during states of emergency and wrongful
termination from their job merely for locking their firearms in
their personal vehicles while at work, as well as voted to protect
the privacy rights of Indiana concealed firearm permit
holders.
"Paul Robertson is a strong pro-gun voice in the
House Democrat Caucus who will continue to support the Second
Amendment," Cox concluded. "We ask all Hoosier gun-owners and
hunters in the 70th House District to re-elect Paul
Robertson on November 2."
Chris W. Cox is NRA's chief lobbyist. He also serves
as chairman of NRA-PVF. The National Rifle Association Political
Victory Fund is responsible for political candidate rankings. These
are based on candidate voting records, public statements and
responses to NRA-PVF questionnaires.
