NRA-PVF Endorses Walden in Oregon Republican Primary for 2nd Congressional District

Friday, March 14, 2014

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) today announced it is endorsing Representative Greg Walden in the Republican primary in Oregon’s 2nd Congressional District.

“Throughout his career, Greg has consistently opposed all attempts to ban lawfully-owned firearms and magazines,” noted Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF. “Greg is a Second Amendment champion in Congress who has stood strong against President Obama and former New York City Mayor Bloomberg’s gun control agenda.

“Greg’s steadfast commitment to our Second Amendment freedoms has earned him an ‘A’ rating with the NRA-PVF. On behalf of our more than five million members, I am proud to endorse Greg Walden in the Republican primary for Oregon’s 2nd CD,” added Cox.

Walden is a cosponsor of H.R. 2959, “The National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act.” The bill would allow any person who is not prohibited from possessing or receiving a firearm under federal law and who has a valid, concealed firearm permit to carry a concealed handgun in any state that issues its own residents permits to carry concealed firearms.

Walden voted for H.R. 3590, “The Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act,” a bill to promote America’s hunting heritage and positively impact sportsmen in Oregon and throughout the country.

Walden also voted for “The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act,” which prevents America’s firearms manufacturers from being sued into bankruptcy through bogus lawsuits.

In addition, Walden signed the pro-gun congressional “friend of the court” briefs in the landmark Heller and McDonald cases.

“I urge all NRA members and supporters of the Second Amendment to vote for Greg Walden on May 20th in the Republican primary in Oregon’s 2nd Congressional District,” concluded Cox. “Greg is a stalwart when it comes to protecting and promoting our freedoms.”
