NRA - PVF Endorses Congressman Dan Burton for Reelection in Indiana Primary May 6

Monday, April 28, 2008

Fairfax, VA-Congressman Dan Burton, running for re-election in Indiana’s 5th District, has received the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF)’s endorsement in the May 6 primary.

“Dan Burton has a perfect pro-gun voting record in Congress, and as a Life Member of NRA, he is a great friend to gun owners in Indiana,” said Chris W. Cox, Chairman of NRA-PVF. “On behalf of thousands of NRA members in Indiana, the NRA Political Victory Fund is proud to endorse Congressman Dan Burton for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives in Indiana’s fifth congressional district.”

During his tenure in Congress, Dan Burton voted to stop bogus lawsuits against gun manufacturers and dealers, to prohibit gun confiscation during states of emergency and to repeal the gun ban and restore self-defense rights to residents of the District of Columbia.

Congressman Burton has also consistently supported the constitutional rights of law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen, demonstrating a strong commitment to the Second Amendment and our hunting heritage. Burton’s solidly pro-gun and pro-hunting voting record has earned him an “A” rating and endorsement from NRA-PVF.

Cox concluded, “The choice is clear. Congressman Dan Burton’s votes and actions have earned the trust and support of NRA members in Indiana. We encourage our members and fellow hunters and shooters to vote Dan Burton for Congress on Tuesday, May 6th.”
