"Butch" Otter has a proven and solid record of supporting Idahoans’ Second Amendment rights and has shown an unwavering commitment to preserving Idaho’s rich hunting heritage for current and future generations. Throughout his career serving Idahoans in Congress and in the state capitol, Governor Otter has consistently fought to protect law-abiding gun owners' Right to Keep and Bear Arms. 

For the following reasons, Governor Otter has earned an "A" rating and received our endorsement for reelection:

Supports Self-Defense and Right-to-Carry

	Signed legislation into law allowing trained, law-abiding adults who have obtained an “enhanced” concealed carry license to possess a concealed firearm on public college and university campuses.
	Signed legislation into law prohibiting local units of government from enforcing regulations, prohibitions or penalties that infringe upon concealed carry rights.
	Signed legislation into law protecting employers from liability for allowing their employees to securely store firearms in their vehicles while at work.

Opposes "Assault Weapons" Bans and Magazine Capacity Limits

Signed legislation into law prohibiting state and local law enforcement officials from enforcing federal laws and regulations that affect an individual’s right to legally possess certain firearms, firearm accessories or ammunition.

Supports Idaho's Hunting Heritage

	Signed legislation into law enhancing the proliferation of Idaho’s strong hunting heritage for future generations by lowering the age limit for supervised big game hunting.
	Supported the Right to Hunt and Fish Amendment to the Idaho Constitution.
