The NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) has endorsed Yvette Herrell for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2^nd Congressional District of New Mexico. Yvette has a proven pro-Second Amendment record and is committed to protecting our right to self-defense!

For the following reasons, Yvette Herrell has received our endorsement and “A” rating:

• Supports Right-to-Carry – Herrell supports Concealed Carry Reciprocity legislation, which would ensure that the nearly 20 million law-abiding Americans who can carry a concealed firearm in their home state are able to do so in any other state that does not prohibit it. Additionally, Herrell voted to ease burdensome requirements for New Mexico concealed carry permit holders. 
• Supports Protecting America’s Communities – Herrell supports strengthening school security, reforming our broken mental health system and making sure the background check system is instant, accurate and fair.
• Opposes Criminalizing Private Firearm Transfers – Herrell opposes the Schumer/Pelosi/Bloomberg “universal” background check system that would criminalize the private transfer of firearms which, according to the Obama Justice Department, is only enforceable through federal firearms registration. 
• Opposes limits on long gun purchases – Herrell voted to repeal a restrictive New Mexico law to allow New Mexicans to purchase long guns in non-contiguous states, and residents of non-contiguous states to purchase long guns in New Mexico.
• Opposes Semi-Auto Ban – Herrell signed a letter opposing legislation that would ban ownership of commonly owned semi-automatic firearms used for hunting, recreational shooting and self-defense.
• Opposes Magazine Ban – Herrell signed a letter opposing a ban on standard sized magazines.
• Supports America’s Hunting Heritage – Herrell supports legislation that would benefit sportsmen throughout New Mexico and the country.
• Opposes Government Blacklists – Herrell opposes legislation denying persons on secret government lists their Second Amendment right to purchase or own a firearm without due process.

Yvette’s opponent, Xochitl Torres Small, has received an “?” rating from the NRA. A vote for Xochitl Torres Small is a vote to put Nancy Pelosi in control of Congress.
