Fairfax, Va. - The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Steve Stivers for election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Ohio's 15th Congressional District this November.
"The NRA-PVF is proud to endorse Steve Stivers because he is a staunch defender of the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding gun owners, hunters and sportsmen in Ohio," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. "Because of his solid and consistent pro-gun support, Stivers has earned an 'A' rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF."
Stivers voted for state right-to-carry legislation in 2003 while serving in the Ohio Senate and supports repealing the D.C. gun ban/registration statute to restore the right of self-defense to law-abiding residents of our nation's capital. He also supports legislation to force much-needed reform of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Steve
Stivers will be a strong voice in fighting ongoing efforts by anti-gun politicians to dismantle the Second Amendment. In contrast, his opponent, Mary Jo Kilroy, has consistently opposed the Second Amendment, earning an 'F' rating from the NRA-PVF. She accepted campaign contributions from national gun ban groups like the Brady Campaign, as well as from radical anti-hunting groups like Humane USA Federal PAC. Kilroy's long list of anti-gun support includes: refusing to sign the pro-gun congressional "friend of the court" brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the historic McDonald case supporting the position that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that protects all Americans; voting twice in committee to allow taxpayer-supported public housing agencies and owners of assisted housing to ban the possession and use of legal firearms by law-abiding residents; and refusing to answer NRA's federal candidate questionnaire this year and in the past - a clear indication of indifference, if not outright hostility, to the rights of gun owners and sportsmen.
