NRA-PVF Endorses Marlin Stutzman for U.S. House of Representatives in Indiana’s 3rd Congressional District

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Fairfax, Va.-- The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Marlin Stutzman for election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Indiana's 3rd Congressional District this November.

"Marlin Stutzman has earned the endorsement of the NRA-PVF because he is a staunch defender of the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding gun owners, hunters and sportsmen in Indiana and across America," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF.

During his time in the Indiana State Senate, Marlin Stutzman has demonstrated his commitment to our Second Amendment rights by cosponsoring and voting for the Emergency Powers Act that prohibits gun confiscation during states of emergency; cosponsoring and voting for legislation that prohibits businesses from violating the self-defense rights of gun owners by searching or seizing legal, secured firearms from vehicles in their parking lots; and voting for legislation that closes the concealed carry database to the public and press. Stutzman also voted for legislation that prevents attempts to bankrupt the American gun industry and local gun dealers through bogus lawsuits and voted for legislation removing barriers to youth participation in our hunting heritage. Most recently, he signed the pro-gun congressional amicus brief arguing that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that protects all Americans in the McDonald case. As a member of the Indiana House, Stutzman cosponsored and voted for legislation to establish a lifetime right-to-carry permit -- the only lifetime carry permit in the country.

Stutzman's solid and consistent pro-gun voting record has earned him an "A" rating and the endorsement of the NRA-PVF.

"On November 2, I urge all Indiana NRA Members and gun owners in the 3rd District to vote Marlin Stutzman for Congress," Cox concluded.
