Shelley Moore Capito is committed to protecting the Second Amendment and will continue to oppose all attempts to ban lawfully-owned firearms and magazines. She will continue to stand strong against President Obama and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun control agenda.

For the following reasons, Shelley Moore Capito has earned our endorsement and an "A" rating from NRA-PVF:

	Supports Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Cosponsored and voted for of the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act. This bill would ensure that law-abiding Americans with valid concealed handgun permits would be able to carry a concealed handgun in any other state that does not prohibit concealed carry.
	Supports America's Hunting Heritage Voted for the Sportsmen's Heritage and Recreation Enhancement (SHARE) Act of 2013, a bill that would positively impact sportsmen throughout West Virginia and the country. Specifically, the SHARE Act would protect traditional hunting ammunition, open additional land access for hunting and fishing, and allow firearms to be legally carried on land managed by the Army Corps of Engineers.
	Supports Gun Manufacturers and Dealers Cosponsored and voted for the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, a law that prevents the American gun industry from being sued into bankruptcy through frivolous lawsuits.
	Opposes U.N. Gun Ban Treaty Opposes any treaty by the United Nations or any other global organization that would impose restrictions on American gun owners. She signed a letter opposing the Obama Administration's recent signing of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), as well as cosponsored a resolution opposing the ATT.
	Holder Contempt Voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress on both criminal and civil charges for the flawed and tragic Fast and Furious scandal.
	Opposes Anti-Gun Supreme Court Justices Opposes anti-gun U.S. Supreme Court Justices, such as Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor.
	Opposes Semi-Auto Ban Opposes any ban on commonly owned semi-automatic firearms used for hunting, recreational shooting, and self-defense.
	Opposes "Universal" Background Checks Opposes the Obama-Bloomberg so-called "universal" background check system, which would criminalize the private transfer of a firearm between life-long friends and many family members.
	Opposes a Federal Gun Database Opposes ATF circumventing the will of Congress by centralizing records of thousands of Americans’ long gun purchases.
