The NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) has endorsed Darrell Issa for U.S. House of Representatives in the 49th Congressional District. Darrell has a proven pro-Second Amendment record and is committed to protecting your gun rights! 

• Supports Right-to-Carry – Darrell cosponsored and voted for the National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act, legislation that would ensure that law-abiding Americans with valid concealed handgun permits would be able to carry a concealed handgun in any other state that does not prohibit concealed carry.
• Opposes Gun Control – Darrell opposes the Obama/Bloomberg/Clinton agenda of banning guns, ammunition, magazines, and creating a so-called “universal” background check system that would criminalize the private transfer of firearms which, according to the Justice Department, is only enforceable through federal gun registration.
• Supports Firearm Manufacturers and Dealers – Darrell voted for the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, a law that prevents the American gun industry from being sued into bankruptcy through frivolous lawsuits.
• Opposes Operation Choke Point – Darrell voted for legislation that prohibits the Obama Administration from executing an abusive practice in which the Department of Justice intimidates banks into refusing or severing financial services to legally operated ammunition and firearms dealers. 
• Supports America’s Hunting Heritage – Darrell voted for the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreation Enhancement Act that would benefit sportsmen throughout California and the country.
• Opposes a Federal Gun Database – Darrell voted to prevent the ATF from circumventing the will of Congress by centralizing records of thousands of Americans’ long gun purchases.
• Opposes Ammo Bans – Darrell signed a letter to the Obama Administration opposing its flagrant attempt to ban commonly used ammunition for the most popular rifle in America.
• Supports Gun Shows – Darrell opposes legislation that would effectively eliminate gun shows.
• Opposes Washington D.C.’s Gun Ban – Darrell voted for legislation to repeal Washington D.C.’s draconian gun control laws and restore the right of self-defense to law-abiding individuals in our nation’s capital.
• Opposes Gun Confiscation – Darrell voted to prohibit gun confiscation during states of emergency, as happened after Hurricane Katrina.
• Opposes Backdoor Gun Bans – Darrell opposes any attempt by the Obama Administration to deny millions of Social Security recipients their Second Amendment rights without due process.
• Opposes Government “Gunwalking” Operations – As Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Darrell led the investigations into the Obama Administration’s “gunwalking” operations, commonly known as Fast & Furious.
• Holder Contempt Vote – Darrell voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress on both criminal and civil charges for the flawed and tragic Fast and Furious scandal.

In contrast, his opponent, Doug Applegate, has received a “?” rating from NRA-PVF.  He refused to answer the most basic questions regarding the Second Amendment and our fundamental right of self-defense, and he cannot be trusted to stand up to the Obama/Clinton/Bloomberg gun control agenda of banning guns, magazines, and ammunition.
