NRA-PVF Endorses State Representative David Cheatham for Re-Election in Indiana’s 69th House District

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Fairfax, Va.-The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Rep. David Cheatham (D-69) for re-election to the Indiana House of Representatives this November.

"David Cheatham has earned an A+ rating and endorsement by standing up for our Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF.  "Dave is a loyal friend of Hoosier gun owners and NRA appreciates his pro-gun leadership in the Indiana House."

Throughout his tenure in the Indiana House of Representatives, Dave Cheatham has consistently supported our right to keep and bear arms, including:  introducing Emergency Powers legislation to protect Hoosiers against gun confiscations during states of emergency; supporting Indiana's Emergency Powers and Parking Lot laws; voting for privacy protections for Indiana concealed firearm permit holders; and signing a pro-gun "friend of the court" brief in McDonald v. Chicago, supporting the position that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that protects all Americans.

"Dave Cheatham will continue to be a strong pro-gun voice in the Indiana House of Representatives," Cox concluded. "We ask all Hoosier gun-owners and hunters in the 69th House District to re-elect Dave Cheatham on November 2."

Chris W. Cox is NRA's chief lobbyist. He also serves as chairman of NRA-PVF. The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is responsible for political candidate rankings. These are based on candidate voting records, public statements and responses to NRA-PVF questionnaires.
