Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Gary Herbert for Governor in Utah.
“Gary Herbert is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and of Utah’s hunting and sporting heritage,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. “His actions have earned an “A+” rating from the NRA-PVF and endorsement for re-election as Utah Governor.”
Governor Herbert has fought for the constitutionally guaranteed right of all law-abiding Utahns to own firearms, and has fought to return the management of federal lands to the state in order to ensure the rights of hunters. Herbert has signed into law many pro-gun bills including measures clarifying the legality of open carry and clarifying when firearms can be displayed for defensive purposes. He also signed legislation strengthening Utah’s statute that protects a property owner from civil liability if the person is justified in defending his home and family against criminal activity and exempting any property owner who allows a concealed firearm permit holder to bring a firearm on to his property from liability for damage caused by the discharge of the firearm.
“Gary Herbert has demonstrated his support for the Second Amendment,” continued Cox. “We urge all gun owners and sportsmen in Utah to vote Gary Herbert for Governor on November 6.”
