NRA Endorses Terri Lynn Land for U.S. Senate in Michigan

Fairfax, Va. – On behalf of our five million members across the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to endorse Terri Lynn Land for U.S. Senate in Michigan.

Based on her support of and commitment to the Second Amendment, Land has earned an “A” rating from the NRA-PVF in the November 4, 2014 election. An “A” rating is reserved for a solidly pro-gun legislator who has supported the NRA’s position on votes of importance to gun owners.

"We need Terri Lynn Land in the U.S. Senate to protect and promote our constitutional right to Keep and Bear Arms,” noted Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF. “Terri is the only candidate in this race who will stand up for Michigan and fight against the Obama-Bloomberg gun control agenda.”

Land is committed to ensuring Michigan sportsmen have access to federally owned or administered lands for hunting, fishing, trapping and recreational shooting. She has also stated her opposition to the Obama-Bloomberg gun control agenda, including their so-called “universal” background check system that would criminalize the private transfer of a firearm between life-long friends and many family members. Additionally, Land opposes Obama’s anti-gun nominees for the U.S. Supreme Court, such as Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. Land also opposes any treaty by the United Nations or any other global organization that would impose restrictions on American gun owners.

“We can count on Terri Lynn Land to stand up for our constitutional freedoms in the U.S. Senate,” added Cox. “On behalf of the NRA’s five million members, I want to thank Terri for her steadfast support of the Second Amendment and urge all NRA members, gun owners and sportsmen in Michigan to vote Terri Lynn Land for U.S. Senate on November 4.”

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
