Fairfax, Va.—National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre and NRA Institute for Legislative Action Executive Director Chris Cox today traveled across Missouri making the case for the re-election of U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt. They warned Missourians that the Second Amendment is on the ballot this November and that a vote for Jason Kander is a vote to confirm a Supreme Court nominee who would overturn the decision guaranteeing law-abiding Americans the right to have a firearm in their home for self-defense.
“Roy Blunt has a proven record of protecting the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding Missourians,” said NRA-PVF Chairman Chris W. Cox. “He has consistently been a friend to the Second Amendment and has long opposed the extreme gun control agenda of President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Roy Blunt is a Second Amendment champion who will oppose anti-gun Supreme Court nominees.”
The Second Amendment is on the ballot in November. Hillary Clinton has made clear that she will nominate Supreme Court justices who would overturn the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, in which the Court held that the Second Amendment guarantees our individual right to keep and bear arms. In a candid moment, Hillary Clinton told an audience of supporters that “The Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment, and I’m going to make that case every chance I get.” Jason Kander has endorsed Hillary Clinton, has refused to commit to opposing anti-gun Supreme Court justices and is "F" rated by the NRA.
“The choice to own a firearm doesn’t belong to the government -- it is an individual freedom and its imperative Missourians elect a U.S. Senator who will protect that freedom,” continued Cox. “Roy Blunt is a champion of our Second Amendment rights. All freedom-loving Missourians should vote Roy Blunt for U.S. Senate this November,” Cox concluded.
