The NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) has endorsed Dan Bishop for U.S. House of Representatives in the 9^th Congressional District of North Carolina. Dan Bishop has a proven pro-Second Amendment record and is committed to protecting our right to self-defense!

For the following reasons, Dan Bishop has received our endorsement and “A” rating:

• Supports Right-to-Carry: Strongly supports Right-to-Carry reciprocity legislation, which would ensure that the nearly 20 million law-abiding Americans who can carry a concealed firearm in their home state are able to do so in any other state that does not prohibit concealed carry.
• Opposes Semi-auto Ban: Opposes any ban on commonly owned semi-automatic firearms used for hunting, recreational shooting, and self-defense.
• Opposes Criminalizing Private Firearm Transfers: Opposes the Pelosi/Schumer/Bloomberg so-called “universal” background check system that would criminalize the private transfer of firearms which, according to the Justice Department, is only enforceable through federal firearms registration. 
• Supports Veterans’ Second Amendment Rights: Supports legislation that would protect veterans’ Second Amendment rights. 
• Supports Strong Preemption: In the North Carolina General Assembly, he voted to strengthen North Carolina’s firearm preemption statute. This protects law-abiding gun owners from being ensnared by a confusing patchwork of disparate local ordinances and ensures their Right-to-Carry for defense of themselves and others across the state.
• Opposes Government Blacklists: Opposes legislation denying persons on secret government lists their Second Amendment right to purchase or own a firearm without due process.
• Supports America’s Hunting Heritage: Voted for an amendment to the North Carolina Constitution that affirms the right of the public to hunt, fish and harvest wildlife, as well as voted to expand hunting opportunities on public land in North Carolina. 

In contrast, his opponent Dan McCready has received a “D” rating from NRA-PVF for supporting Nancy Pelosi’s gun control agenda.
