Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is announcing its endorsement of John Sullivan for U.S. House of Representatives in District 1 in the June 26 Oklahoma Republican primary election.
In the 112th Congress, John Sullivan cosponsored and voted for H.R. 822, "The National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act," one of the most important pieces of pro-gun legislation to come before the Congress. This bill would ensure that law-abiding Americans with a valid concealed handgun license would be able to carry their concealed firearm in any other state that does not prohibit concealed carry. "John Sullivan is committed to protecting our Second Amendment freedoms and hunting heritage," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. "Because of his strong support of our rights, John Sullivan has earned an "A" rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF. We urge all NRA members and gun owners in Oklahoma’s First District to vote John Sullivan for U.S. House of Representatives in the June 26 Republican primary."
In addition, John Sullivan cosponsored H.R. 420, "The Veterans’ Heritage Firearms Act." This bill would provide a once-in-lifetime opportunity for veterans and certain family members of veterans to preserve rare and historic firearms acquired overseas before October 31, 1968 without fear of prosecution.
