Fairfax, Va. – With the strong backing of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF), Speaker Thom Tillis secured the North Carolina Republican nomination for US Senate tonight. The NRA-PVF endorsed candidate benefited from the organization's renowned and effective get-out-the-vote operation. NRA-PVF Chairman Chris W. Cox issued the following statement congratulating Tillis on his victory:
"Thom has long been one of most effective gun rights advocates in North Carolina. His record as a legislator, as Speaker of the General Assembly and his tireless leadership and efforts to defend our constitutional rights earned him the votes of North Carolina's Second Amendment supporters and an 'A+' rating from the NRA-PVF. On behalf of our 5 million members across the country, we congratulate him on his hard fought victory. We need Thom Tillis in the U.S. Senate to stand up to the extreme gun control agenda of President Obama and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg."
