NRA Endorses Ben Sasse for U.S. Senate in Nebraska

Fairfax, Va. – On behalf of our five million members across the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to endorse Ben Sasse for United States Senate in Nebraska.

Based on his support of and commitment to the Second Amendment, Sasse has earned an “AQ” rating from the NRA in the November 4, 2014 election. An “AQ” is reserved for a pro-gun candidate whose rating is based on pro-gun responses to the NRA-PVF Candidate Questionnaire and is the highest rating a candidate can receive without a voting record on Second Amendment issues.

“As a fifth-generation Nebraskan, Ben knows how important the Second Amendment is to the people of Nebraska,” noted Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF. “He’s committed to protecting those rights.”

Sasse has stated his strong opposition to any anti-gun nominees for the U.S. Supreme Court, such as Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. Sasse also will oppose any treaty by the United Nations or any other global organization that would impose restrictions on American gun owners.  Sasse has also stated that he strongly opposes the Obama-Bloomberg gun control agenda.

“We can count on Ben Sasse to stand up for our constitutional freedoms in the U.S. Senate.  The NRA encourages all gun owners and sportsmen in Nebraska to vote Ben Sasse for U.S. Senate on November 4,” concluded Cox.

Established in 1871, the National Rifle Association is America's oldest civil rights and sportsmen's group. More than five million members strong, NRA continues to uphold the Second Amendment and advocates enforcement of existing laws against violent offenders to reduce crime. The Association remains the nation's leader in firearm education and training for law-abiding gun owners, law enforcement and the armed services.
