Fairfax, Va. - The National Rifle Association congratulates A+ rated Delegate William Howell for winning the Republican primary in Virginia's 28th district. Howell has represented the 28th district since 1992.
“Speaker Howell has cultivated an environment in the state House where gun legislation receives fair and balanced consideration,” said Chris Cox, executive director of NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action. “His leadership and votes demonstrate a strong dedication to our Second Amendment freedoms.”
First arriving in the House of Delegates from Virginia's 53rd district, Howell was ultimately elected Speaker in 2003.
Howell earned his A+ rating from the NRA Political Victory Fund for repealing Virginia’s one-gun-a-month law, strengthening Virginia’s concealed carry laws, and guiding the House of Delegates in important Second Amendment matters.
“Speaker Howell has a long history of supporting our right to keep and bear arms. We look forward to his success in the general election this fall,” added Cox.
Virginia’s general election takes place on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.
