NRA-PVF Endorses Diane Black for U.S. House of Representatives

Monday, July 16, 2012

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is pleased to announce its endorsement of Diane Black for U.S. House of Representatives in Tennessee’s 6th District in the August 2nd primary election.

"Diane Black’s record of support for the Second Amendment proves that she is committed, consistent, and the right person for the job," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. "She has earned an "A" rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF."

While serving in the 112th Congress, Diane Black cosponsored and voted for H.R. 822, The National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act. This bill is one of the most significant pieces of legislation supporting the Second Amendment to come before the Congress. H.R. 822 would ensure that law-abiding Americans with a valid concealed handgun permits would be able to carry their concealed firearm in any other state that does not prohibit concealed carry.

Black also cosponsored H.R. 420, The Veterans’ Heritage Act – a meaningful and respectful measure which would allow veterans and certain family members of veterans to preserve rare and historic firearms acquired overseas before October 31, 1968 without fear of prosecution. This is an important opportunity to respect our veterans and preserve history.

“The stakes to preserve our Second Amendment rights have never been higher. That is why we urge all NRA members, gun owners, and sportsmen in Tennessee’s 6th District to vote Diane Black for U.S. House of Representatives in the August 2nd primary election,” concluded Cox.
