NRA-PVF Endorses Scott Desjarlais for U.S. House of Representatives

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) announces its endorsement of Scott Desjarlais for U.S. House of Representatives in Tennessee’s 4th District in the August 2nd primary election.

"Scott Desjarlais has strongly supported the Second Amendment rights of all Americans through his actions and voting record," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. "He has earned an "A" rating from the NRA-PVF and we proudly endorse him for re-election in Tennessee’s 4th District."

Desjarlais cosponsored H.R. 420, The Veterans’ Heritage Act, which would allow veterans and certain family members of veterans to preserve rare and historic firearms acquired overseas before October 31, 1968 without fear of prosecution. This bill protects veterans who simply want to preserve important historic firearms.

In addition, Desjarlais voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for his blatant defiance of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s subpoena for documents regarding one of the most deadly and disastrous fiascos in the history of American law enforcement, Operation Fast and Furious.

“Scott Desjarlais truly understands the sanctity of the Second Amendment as enshrined in our Bill of Rights, and since his election to Congress in 2010, has demonstrated that conviction. We encourage everyone in Tennessee’s 4th District to vote Scott Desjarlais for U.S. House of Representatives in the August 2nd primary election,” concluded Cox.
