NRA-PVF Endorses Bobby Bright for U.S. House of Representatives in Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District

Monday, September 20, 2010

Fairfax, Va. - The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Bobby Bright for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Alabama's 2nd Congressional District this November.

"Bobby Bright is a solid defender of the Second Amendment and his record proves he will stand up for the rights of gun owners in Alabama and across the United States, earning him the NRA-PVF endorsement," said Chris W. Cox, Chairman of the NRA-PVF.

During his time in Congress, Rep. Bright has consistently supported gun rights for law-abiding Americans. Bright cosponsored the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity bill, which would extend federal protection of state right-to-carry permits and licenses across the country and cosponsored legislation to force reform of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He also cosponsored the Second Amendment Enforcement Act to restore the right of self-defense to law-abiding residents of our nation's capital. Last year, he voted to allow carry license or permit holders to carry and transport firearms for self-defense in national parks and wildlife refuges. In addition, Bright signed the pro-gun congressional brief in the McDonald case, supporting the position that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that protects all Americans.

"On November 2nd, I urge all Alabama NRA Members and gun owners in the 2nd District to vote Bobby Bright for Congress," Cox concluded.
